The Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Mersin Deputy Ertuðrul Kürkçü stated that a first step for an umbrella organization was taken by the Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block’s members.

Kürkçü said that forming a contact group, the members of the Block will create a new and realistic movement that will be vital for everyone who wants to be part of development in Turkey.

Addressing a large crowd today, Kürkçü named both socialists and opposition that gathered for an umbrella organization as an essential part of effort for a new constitution.

He also emphasized Kurds’ freedom movement; “A new revolutionary period is beginning. Each democratic force will re-create itself. We, as Turkish leftists and revolutionary, who has a dream about revolution, have lots of experience to learn from Kurdish Freedom Movement. Now is time to act together.”
