Five people remanded in custody in Batman
Eight people were taken into custody following raids carried out by police in the morning of 6 October in Batman. Among them was HDP Co-Chair Nizamettin Toğuç.
On Monday evening, five of the detained people were sent to the court and were remanded in custody on charges of “membership of an organisation”.
Details of the charges could not be learned as the file was confidential. Toğuç and two other people are expected to be referred to the prosecutor's office on Tuesday.
In the past week alone some 250 people have been taken into custody.
