Thousands joined the funerals of five YPG (People's Defense Units) members who died in clashes with al-Qaeda linked groups in Çilaxa. The funeral took place in Qamishlo Mosque where thousands of people have been gathering since early morning. The five guerrillas were all from Qamishlo and they were buried in the Martyr Delil Saruxan graveyard. 

The five guerrillas were named as:

- Hiznî Husên, born in 1985 in Qamishlo, code name Berxwedan

- Ayêd Yaqûb, born in 1979 in Qamishlo, code name Zagros

- Amêr Edîb Genco, born in 1973 in Qamishlo, code name Şevger

- Idrîs Mihemed, born in 1978 in Qamishlo, code name Egid

- Eli Abdulah, born in 1992 in Qamishlo, code name Eli
