According to Norwegian media, Erling Folkvord, a former Norwegian Member of Parliament, Oslo City Council member and close friend of the Kurdish people, died on Friday afternoon while traveling in Stockholm in connection with a book project on Kurdistan and Palestine.

Folkvord was born in the Levanger district of Trøndelag, Norway. He had been politically active since the 1960s and was deputy leader of the Norwegian Workers' Communist Party from 1990 to 1997.

In 1999, he became an Oslo city councilor for the Red Electoral Alliance, which later evolved into the Red Party. He served as a member of parliament between 1993 and 1997 during the Red Party period.

He went to Kurdistan when he was a member of parliament and from that day on, he worked for the Kurds, wrote books and research.

Folkvord, influenced by the freedom perspectives of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, published the book "Kurdistan: Past, People and Future".

Erling Folkvord, who also went to Rojava, wrote a book called "Kurdish people in Rojava struggling for a future without Assad, without ISIS, without Erdogan." He wrote many articles in Medya News and many sites.

Folkvord, who has written 15 books to date, last went to Stockholm as part of a book project on Kurdistan and Palestine.
