Four out of eight people who were detained in Ağrı's Diyadin district on 21 December have been remanded in custody.

Executives of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) were also among those detained as a result of house raids in Diyadin and Ağrı's villages last Saturday.

Two of the eight detainees were released after bearing testimony to the prosecutor, while six others were referred to Erzurum 2nd High Criminal Court with an arrest demand.

Four were arrested by the court, Mustafa Yaşar, İhsan Çiftçi, Adem Aslan and Sıddık Çiftçi, and sent to Erzurum H Type Closed Prison for allegedly "plotting an assassination".
