Four policemen wounded in Hakkari

Four policemen were wounded in clashes with demonstrators in the province of Hakkari on Wednesday evening.

Hundreds of activists of the Movement of Patriot and Revolutionary Youth (YDG-H) took to the streets in Hakkari to protest against the 9 October conspiracy which led Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan being forced to leave Syria in 1998.

Demonstrators were attacked by police teams as they built barricades in many neighborhoods of the city at evening hours. Clashes broke out in the neighborhoods of Gazi, Pehlivan, Dağgöl, Biçer, Medrese, Sümbül and Kıran and lasted till late night.

Four policemen who were wounded during clashes were rushed to Hakkari state hospital.

Police also attacked demonstrators who protested against the 9 October conspiracy in the province of Adana on Wednesday evening.

Hundreds of youths in the Şakirpaşa neighborhood and Seyhan and Yüreğir districts lighted fires and built barricades on streets where they also blocked the traffic for long hours.

Police attacked demonstrators in the Küçükdikili, Anadolu and Hürriyet neighborhoods using intense pressure water and tear gas. Demonstrators responded to the police attack with blast bombs and stones.

People in the neighborhoods of Şakirpaşa, Ova, Onur, Uçak, Denizli, Gülbahçe, Barbaros, Yenibey, Hürriyet, Küçükdikili, Dağlıoğlu, Koza, Yunus Emre, Anadolu, 19 Mayıs and Havuzlubahçe also joined the protest against the international conspiracy by closing their shops during the day.
