Four students remanded in custody in Van

Four of 15 students arrested in Van in house raids have been remanded in custody by a court.

Political arrests are continuing in the city of Van.

8 of 15 students arrested by police from the anti-terror department were taken to court after giving statements to the public prosecutor. The students claimed they had suffered ill treatment while in police custody. 4 of the 8 students, Seyithan Güler, Muhammet Ayata, Adem Seraç and Agit Yılmaz were remanded in custody on a charge of ‘organisation membership’ and sent to prison, while the other 4 were released on bail to face the same charge. The other 7 students are expected to be taken to court today.
