In a statement released on Thursday, People's Defense Units (YPG) said their fighters have launched a retaliatory attack against a control point of the Syrian army today.
YPG remarked that the action has been carried out in retaliation for the Ba'ath regime's aerial attacks against the Kurdish neighborhoods in Aleppo on 18 December. The helicopter attack in the region left five civilians, all from the same family, severely wounded.
According to the YPG statement, four soldiers of the Syrian army were killed and many others were wounded in the YPG attack which targeted a control point in al-Awared near the Kurdish Sheik Maksoud neighborhood of Aleppo.
Noting that YPG fighters also burnt down a military post of the regime forces, YPG vowed to continue to protect the people and to continue the resistance in Aleppo.
