According to the information received, an explosion occurred in a private mine in the Kilimli district.
The cause of the explosion is not yet known. The explosion occurred after working hours and four workers were injured.
Injured miners Ersoy Mankır, Ramazan Kamil Çelebi, İlyas Kabuk and Ali Gezer were taken to Zonguldak State Hospital by ambulance.
Shell and Gezer, whose condition remained serious, were later transferred to Ankara City Hospital.
Zonguldak has come to the fore because of mining accidents many times. The deadliest mining disaster in this city occurred in 1992 in Kozlu district and at least 263 workers lost their lives.
The last major mining disaster took place on 14 October 2022 in the Amasra district of Bartın. 41 workers lost their lives in the explosion.
