A group of prisoners in Ardahan B Type Closed Prison started a riot and set beds alight on Thursday evening, starting a huge fire in which fourteen ordinary prisoners were wounded.

Three of the injured got serious burnt in the fire which was allegedly leaded by prisoner Volkan Aydýn who has recently been exiled from Kars to Ardahan prison. Aydýn is also reported to be facing critical medical condition as he has been referred to a hospital in the province of Erzurum. Soldiers and police have taken intense security measures around the Ardahan Hospital where the injured prisoners are being held for treatment.

The reason for the riot hasn’t been disclosed yet.
