Upon the call of the Kurdish Committee of Milano, circles of Italian anarchist, revolutionary and communist institutions came together at the Kantiera association and agreed to establish within the frame of the ongoing campaign of "Freedom for Öcalan", a committee for the sole purpose of stepping up efforts in Italy in favor of the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The speeches held at the meeting stressed the importance of a coordinated approach in the planned activities, in order to effectively tackle all obstacles which lie in front of the physical freedom of Öcalan, and all participants were urged to take on the activities as a matter of historical duty and conscience.

Meetings and seminaries were announced to be held throughout Italy to spread the philosophy and ideas of Öcalan among the people.

The initial meeting ended after all the participants agreed on the structure of the planned programme.
