The Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Vigil, now in its 658th week, was taken over by a group of activists from Rennes.
Launched on 25 June 2012, in Strasbourg, by the Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Initiative, the vigil is being carried out with unwavering determination.
The action, aimed at achieving the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan and dismantling the Imrali Isolation System, is being actively supported by Kurdish communities and their allies in Europe, organized in rotating groups.
This week, the vigil was taken over by Ahmet Öztürk, Mazlum Kaya, and Şahin Teker, three activists from Rennes. Speaking on behalf of the group, Ahmet Öztürk underlined their unwavering commitment: 'We will continue our vigil until our leader is free.'
Öztürk also criticized European Union countries for their silence and inaction about the massacres and occupation attacks carried out by the Turkish state in Northern and Eastern Syria.
