'Freedom for Öcalan march' from Cizre to Amed continues on the sixth day.

Over 1,500 people are joining the march which has been initiated by the people of Botan demanding freedom for the Kurdish people's leader who has been jailed in İmralı island prison since was captured in 1999.

Demonstrators who reached Mardin yesterday spent the night in the village of Axreşkê before resuming the march to Amed early in the morning.

HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) Şırnak MP Faysal Sarıyıldız and other elected representatives are also continuing to take part in the march together with civilians and activists.
