‘Freedom for Öcalan’ vigil: day 88

'Freedom for Öcalan’ vigil action in front of the European Council building in the French city of Strasbourg has left 88 days behind since it started on 25 June to ask the European Council, European Parliament, European Union countries and western countries like the USA to "stop their political, military and economic support of Turkey” and to demand freedom for the Kurdish Leader Mr Abdullah Ocalan and the recognition of the Kurdish peoples’ status in all parts of Kurdistan.

Thirteen groups of five people have so far progressed the vigil action where they have alternately distributed leaflets in front of the Council of Europe and collected signatures for the signature campaign for Kurdish leader’s freedom.

On the other hand, the ‘Freedom for Öcalan’ bus continues its tour in Germany where it will today stop by the capital city Berlin for a mass meeting at Brandenburg Tor in the afternoon. Yesterday’s tour in Germany continued with activities in the cities of Kiel and Magdeburg.

The rally will be followed by a public meeting and a panel discussion at a Kurdish association in the evening today and by cultural events in the same area tomorrow morning. The bus will leave the city tomorrow afternoon.
