Freedom for Öcalan Vigil in Strasbourg at week 233

The vigil demonstration for the freedom of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan in front of the Council of Europe has reached its 233rd week.

The Freedom for Öcalan Vigil demonstration that was launched on June 25, 2012 in front of the Council of Europe building in Strasbourg, France continues every week with a new group.

This week, the vigil is taken over by Kurdish patriots Rasmiya Kaşkın, Cimha Bakır, Süleyman Xalaf and Xalit Şengali from Ulm, Germany and Sabri Atan in the name of Germany Ezidi Associations Center (NAV-YEK). The activists continue with great enthusiasm despite the snow and cold weather.

THE DEMAND FOR FREEDOM MUST BE VOICED AT EVERY CHANCE

Rasmiy Kaşkın made a statement for the Ulm group and said they were proud to take on the vigil again as they had in the past as a group. Kaşkın emphasized that the captivity of the Kurdish People’s Leader could not be accepted anymore and underlined that all Kurds in Europe should voice the demand for freedom at every chance they get.

The activists called on the European countries to end their support for the Erdoğan dictatorship.

ÖCALAN IS IMPORTANT FOR THE PEOPLES OF THE MIDDLE EAST

Sabri Atan who attended the vigil in the name of NAV-YEK underlined that they as the Ezidis placed a special importance on the freedom of Öcalan. Atan pointed out Öcalan’s importance for Ezidi Kurds and the peoples of the Middle East and emphasized that peoples with captive leaders cannot be free.

Sabri Atan said the guerrillas armed with Öcalan’s philosophy prevented a great genocide in Shengal and said: “Maybe if the guerrillas were in Shengal before, ISIS gangs couldn’t have killed and enslaved so many of our people.”
