Friday Civil Prayers come to an end
In a written statement after a meeting in Amed on Sunday, Kurdish religious scholars announced that the civil Friday prayers going on for the last 30 months will be ended as of the beginning of the Ramadan month.
The statement said that the Friday prayers have reached its aim with the government having agreed on sermon and religious services in mother tongue in mosques.
Kurdish religious scholars said that they supported the peace process Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan has initiated and that they will be doing their part for its progress in a healthy way.
