Gangs forced to retreat on southern front in Kobanê
According to a balance sheet issued by the YPG the ISIS gangs' assaults have been halted on the eastern front, while on the western and southern fronts the gangs have gone on the attack.
On the southern front the gangs have been forced to retreat by determined counter attacks from the YPG forces that have taken the village of Halinc from the gangs.
In the southwest the forces of Burkan Al Fırat carried out a joint operation.
The YPG Press Centre has issued a statement regarding clashes on the 9th day of fighting around Kobanê.
Halinc village cleansed of gangs
The YPG announced that the village of Halinc had been cleansed of gangs. According to the YPG, dozens of ISIS gang members have been killed in clashes.
Western and south western front
"Our forces hit gangs in the villages of Susanê and Tel Xezal to the west and south west of Kobanê. 9 gang members were killed in Susanê while in Tel Xezal 7 gang members were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in was hit. An attack was also carried out on the gangs near the village of Kontînkar. 2 vehicles and a motor cycle were destroyed. The number of gang casualties could not be determined."
The YPG said that Burkan El Fırat forces had carried out an action in Sirtik village to the south west of Kobanê. A tank and three vehicles were destroyed and dozens of gang members were killed.
