The so called Geneva II peace conference for Syria will convene in the Swiss city on November 23,  Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi said on Sunday. The announcement came after al-Arabi met international peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi.

al-Arabi has acknowledged that there were still obstacles to holding the conference and added that Western and Arab governments will meet Syrian opposition leaders on Tuesday to attempt to persuade them to attend.
