German activists on three-day solidarity hunger strike

A group of German activists has gone on a three-days solidarity hunger strike demanding the end of isolation. 

The group has gone on hunger strike in Berlin in solidarity with the resistance led by DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven to demand the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The hunger strike promoted under the slogan ‘Leyla and her struggle in our hearts’ is being carried out at Heinrichplatz in the borough of Kreuzberg. 

Activists are fasting in a tent put up in the square and are on their second day of action. 

There are 6 activists on hunger strike and beside fasting they are also explaining to passers by the reason for their solidarity action and above all the reason of the hunger strike resistance involving some 7000 people, in prisons and many cities around the world. 

A group of Basque activists visited the action tent. Basque activists gave their full support for German activists' demand for the removal of isolation.

Kurdish Democratic Society Center (NAV-DEM) co-chair Nujiyan Günay visited the activists and made a press statement and said that the activists are supporting the demands of the hunger strikers. 

Günay commended the action by the German group and called on everyone to join the protest to achieve the lifting of isolation against Öcalan.
