German interior ministers announced at their meeting on Monday that they had decided to stop deportation operations to Iran.
German interior ministers said that they will stop deportation to Iran. Citing the demonstrations that started after the murder of Jina Amini in Iran as the reason for the decision, Bavarian State Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said that the ministers had agreed "in principle not to be deported until further notice".
Herrmann is chairing the Conference of Ministers of the Interior, which will meet on Wednesday for the regular summit of Germany's top federal and regional security officials.
The minister said that deportation will only be considered when dangerous persons and serious criminals are concerned.
