Ethem Sarısülük, 26, died late Wednesday after struggling for life for 11 days since he was shot on the head during the first days of protests in Ankara, on June 1, in solidarity with Gezi Park resistance. Sarısülük died after being declared brain dead on June 5, increasing the number of casualties in Gezi protests across the country to three.

Twenty years old Mehmet Ayvalıtaş died on June 2 after he was hit by a civilian car, allegedly used by undercover police officers, in the neigborhood of 1 Mayıs in Istanbul's Ümraniye district.

Abdullah Cömert, 22, was also killed on June 3 during Gezi protests after police hit him on the head with tear-gas canister in the southern province of Hatay.

In the meantime, no police officer has been taken to trial in connection with the death of three protestors

Despite the official demand by the prosecutor, the police directorate of Ankara has yet not disclosed the name of the police officer responsible for Sarısülük's death.

Sarısülük's lawyer Kazım Bayraktar stated that they had delivered the footage of Sarısülük's murder by a police officer to the prosecutor.

In a statement early Wednesday, Interior Minister Muammer Güler has also said that the footage of city surveillance cameras has been delivered to the prosecutor.
