Graz in solidarity with Kurdish hunger strikers

A demonstration was held in the Austrian city of Graz in order to draw attention to the hunger strike campaign launched to protest the isolation of Ocalan.

In an initiative led by the Kurdish Democratic Society Center (DTKM), Kurdish people staged a demonstration in Herrengasse, Graz carrying signs and posters relative to the Kurdish hunger strike resistance against the aggravated isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Many flyers were handed out, and slogans were chanted to condemn the Turkish state’s genocidal policies and war against the Kurdish people and their freedom movement.

Nurgül Başaran, one of the Kurdish hunger strikers in Strasbourg city of France attended the demo and spoke to the crowd through video conference.

The demonstration ended with a call for strong participation in the long march to be staged from St. Polten to Vienna on February 15 to mark the 20th anniversary of the international conspiracy against Ocalan.
