Guerrillas control Þemdinli area

Almost all military posts are under strict guerrilla control 24 hours a day in Þemdinli. People’s Defense Forces (HPG) guerrillas launched a new strategy called “revolutionary operation” on 23 July and have forced the Turkish army to retreat. Turns by guerrillas guarantee a 24 hours control of the area around the military spots as to limit or prevent movement by soldiers.

The military posts in the region can meet neither their logistic nor ammunition needs as Kurdish guerrillas have occupied and now control a large area around the posts thus preventing soldiers to move. The so called revolutionary operation has replaced the hit-and-run tactic: now guerrillas establish control over wide areas thus preventing and limiting the army's movement.

Clashes in Þemdinli region have been going on and reached Çukurca where Kurdish guerrillas have targeted 19 separate military spots on 4 August establishing their control over wide areas like in Þemdinli.

The guerrilla control of areas in the region of Çukurca have got wider with more attack on 17 August when guerrillas carried out simultaneous attacks on different military and police buildings.
