Half of the Syrian children in Turkey cannot go to school

Only 20 percent of the Syrian refugees' children in Turkey can go to school together with the children in Turkey.

Children of the Syrian families that migrated to Turkey due to the civil war that erupted in 2011 cannot receive education.

Of the refugees that arrived in Turkey due to the war, some went to Europe and the rest remained in Turkey. The AKP government states at every opportunity that there are 3 million Syrian refugees in Turkey.

According to the Directorate General of Migration Management data, there are currently 833,039 school-age children from Syria in Turkey. Of these, only 181,595, which makes up 20 percent, have the opportunity to receive education at schools together with the children of Turkey's citizens.

Apart from that, 302,777 Syrian pupils attend classes in 432 temporary centers for education in 22 cities with the highest rate of Syrian refugees.

In total, 484,372 children from Syria benefit from the right to education in Turkey.
