Hamdaniya district and Bertilla town taken back from ISIS

The Iraqi army has achieved full control of the Hamdaniya district to the southeast of Mosul and Bertilla town to the northeast.

The 9th Armored Brigade of the Iraqi Army has achieved full control of the Hamdaniya district center Karakuş to the southeast of Mosul where mostly Christians live.

At the same time, the anti-terror units of the army called the “Golden Force”, along with volunteer forces from the Christian population, achieved control in the Bertilla town where Êzidîs and Christians live to the northeast of the city.

Reports say several armored vehicles are still being dispatched to the Hamdaniya district and Bertilla town.

Hamdaniya and Bertilla are 30 and 20 km from Mosul city center respectively.
