The Peoples' United Revolutionary Movement (HBDH) Welat Çiya Militia said it targeted a police vehicle in Sur and added: "We shot the enemy in Sur to protest the 9 October International Conspiracy!"

The statement added: "We carried out an armed action against the Scorpion type armoured vehicle moving from Keçiburcu towards Hevsel in Amed/Sur on 9 October at midnight. The enemy vehicle was hit. After a while, the enemy wanted to do reconnaissance with a drone. We also managed to destroy it.

After our action, the enemy started to randomly detain civilians. Our unit successfully left the action area.

After the action, ambulances were sent to the action area. While we cannot confirm the outcome of the action, we have received information from local sources that one enemy was killed."
