HDK (People's Democratic Congress) Co-Spokesperson Tuncel got acquitted in the same case for the second time.

After the 8 years and 9 months long sentence she received for “being a member of an organization,” Tuncel had applied to the Constitutional Court and won the decision for another trial. The final hearing of the re-trial took place in Istanbul 10th High Criminal Court located in Çağlayan.

'LACK OF SUBSTANTIAL AND CREDIBLE EVIDENCE'

The prosecution noted that Tuncel’s case of “being a member of PKK” lacked substantial and credible evidence, and requested Tuncel’s acquittal. The panel of judges agreed on the lack of substantial and credible evidence, and decided upon her acquittal.
