HDP Amed MP Dağ: The AKP will go, we are staying!

Pointing to the tradition and legacy of the HDP, Amed MP Dersim Dağ stated that despite all the genocide operations, they will not submit: "The AKP will go. We are not going anywhere".

HDP Amed MP Dersim Dağ said that the AKP-MHP government could not intimidate any components of the HDP with the ongoing repression policies and stressed the struggle would continue.

Speaking to ANF, Amed deputy Dağ said that violations of human rights affecting the HDP were more severe at a time when human rights were ignored, and recalled that dozens of party' members were detained and arrested every day.

In fact, she said, by targeting the HDP, the government is actually targeting all Kurdish people and opposition.

"The attacks aim at destroying the total Kurdish freedom struggle. - she added - They aim at taking Kurds out of politics. When this happens, all opposition is under attack."

Dağ pointed out that the HDP is waging a huge struggle and that it is a party representing all sections of society. Most attacks, underlined the MP, target the work of the HDP with women, whether is the work against murders of women, prostitution, submission of women, use of drugs affecting women and young people, assimilation.

The HDP MP continued: "We are a party that opposes the fascist system. All areas of the HDP are under attack. When the Women's Assembly are organising a press conference or a dance, its members are taken into custody. Youth Assembly members get arrested for political party works. The structures of the HDP are being illegalized."

We will not bend to the AKP

Reminding that the HDP is based on a strong tradition and heritage following the footsteps of Orhan Doğan and Vedat Aydın, Dağ added: "This is a party that will not submit to the AKP. The AKP goes, a different party comes, but the HDP will continue to resist and fight. We know very well what they want to do, what kind of policy they are pursuing. We are aware of the meaning of appointing trustees to 31 of our 65 municipalities. We are here, we are with our people, we continue our struggle with our people. We will carry out our struggle and we believe that we will succeed. Through oppression policies, they can intimidate neither our youth nor women, or any component of the HDP. The HDP will continue to oppose these fascist policies."
