HDP and DBP visit vigil tent against ISIS

HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) Van MP Özdal Üçer and DBP (Party of Democratic Regions, formerly BDP) Van provincial co-chair Musa İtah visited the vigil tent set up in the Sarıçimen (Navri) neighbourhood in Çaldıran district of Van in response to the allegations that people are travelling from Iran through Çaldıran to join ISIS.

Many people are joining the vigil which is led by the DÖKH (Democratic Free Women's Movement), including the co-mayors of Çaldıran, Suna Atbay and Faruk Demir, members of the municipality assembly and executives of the DBP as well as a large number of citizens.

Speaking during the visit, HDP Van MP Özdal Üçer said the resistance going on across Kurdistan is intimidating the ISIS gangs, and put emphasis on the importance of the fact that all Kurds must stand against these gang groups intending to occupy their lands.

Speaking after, Van BDP provincial co-chair Musa İtah stressed that the Kurdish people will not remain silent about the enabled border-crossing of gangs that have been committing savage crimes and massacres in the name of religion in the Middle East.

İtah said those who enable the crossing of these gangs for their own benefits were also a part of the savagery they are petpetrating, and warned the ruling AKP government to end its policies in favour of these groups and to stop conniving at their crossing of Turkey's borders.
