HDP Amed Provincial Organization, Bismil municipality co-mayor candidates 

Gülşen Özer and Orhan Ayaz, Amed Metropolitan Municipality co-mayor candidates Adnan Selçuk Mızraklı and Hülya Alökmen Uyanık were presented to the people.

The event was attended by HDP deputies Dersim Dağ, Saliha Aydeniz and Imam Taşçıer.

The candidates and deputies were welcomed by a large crowd and went to the HDP building in Bismil. 

Gülsen Özer, Bishil co-mayor candidate, said: “We will be worthy of the people who will vote for us.”

Co-mayor candidate Orhan Ayaz, commended HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven and the 281 prisoners currently on hunger strike against isolation. 

“Leyla Güven is our honor, - said Ayaz - and together with the people of Bismil we will reclaim our municipality on 31 March.”

Drawing attention to the prison sentences handed out on Sebahat Tuncel and Amed co-mayor Gülten Kışanak, Amed metropolitan municipality co-mayor candidate Adnan Selçuk Mızraklı said: “There is no justice. Justice is not based on law, there. Persecution is the law. But there was a woman who challenged this legal system. Gülten Kışanak has put them on trial.”

Deputies Dersim Dağ, Saliha Aydeniz and Imam Taşçıer commended Leyla Güven who have reached day 89 of her hunger strike. The HDP deputies visited the Hakkari MP at her home when they returned to Amed from Bismil.
