HDP's Buldan: Istanbul will be decisive on 24 June

HDP co-chair was greeted with enthusiasm in Istanbul.

HDP co-chair, Pervin Buldan, joined the public meeting held in the Esenyurt District of Istanbul, Kıraç Borough, as part of her election work.

The meeting was attended by thousands of people. Buldan said: “I come from Serhad, I come from Ardahan, Kars, Igdir, Agri and everywhere the meetings have been so crowded. Thousands of people come to us everywhere we go. People are filling the squares everywhere because they are tired of the AKP and they want them to go. In 22 days this will end, the AKP will go. The HDP and Demirtaş will come instead”.

The peoples of Turkey have decided

The peoples of Turkey have decided, said Buldan and added: “The AKP government has been persecuting Kurds for the past 16 years. Such a mindset which ignores Kurds and do not recognise them stands no chance”.

Buldan reminded that the AKP keeps the representatives of the Kurds in prison as political hostages, stripped freely and legitimately elected deputies of their rights, evicted the municipal councillors and mayors.

Buldan added that “on 24 June, people will vote against those abuses. June 24 will determine the fate of Turkey. Turkey will decide whether to say yes to the AKP government, or say no, saying we want peace, brotherhood, freedom, democracy. Istanbul - said Buldan - will be decisive for this choice”.

Demirtaş will be president

Remarking the “enthusiasm we have seen here will be reflected in polls on 24 June”, Buldan said: “The HDP will enter the Assembly with a strong team and Demirtaş will take over the Presidency. There are 21 days left. We need to close ranks in the next 3 weeks and work day and night to secure victory.

In order for this persecution to end, for the daily injustice to end we must convince people to go out and vote for change on 24 June”.
