Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chairs Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ were detained as part of last night's operation against the party executives in several cities in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan.
While Demirtaş was detained in Amed, Yüksekdağ was detained in Ankara and then brought to Amed. Both Co-chairs have been taken to Diyarbakır Courthouse where they made a joint statement alongside other detained MPs of the party earlier today.
Referred to court with a demand for their arrest, both Co-chairs have been remanded in custody Friday afternoon.
