HDP, DBP and DTK delegation visiting South Kurdistan

A delegation consisting of the co-chairs of the People’s Democratic Party (HDP), the Party of Democratic Regions (DBP) and the Democratic Society Congress (DTK), and deputies from HDP, is paying a visit to South Kurdistan in order to have talks and discussions about the recent developments taking place after the intense attacks of ISIS in the region.

The co-chairs of HDP, Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yuksekdag, the co-chair of DTK, Selma Irmak, the co-chair of DBP, Emine Ayla, the co-chair of the European Yezidi Federation, Leyla Ferman and the HDP deputies Nazmi Gur and Erol Dora make up the delegation.

It has been reported that the delegation has crossed the Habur border gate and will first visit Kandil to meet the KCK executives. Following talks with the KCK executives, the delegation will travel to Hewler (Erbil) and Sulaymaniyah and hold meetings with the authorities there. The main topics to be discussed at the meetings are reportedly the national congress, the formation of a joint defence force and unity among the Kurds. It is also expected that impediments to the organisation of the national conference and the building of national unity will also come under discussion at the meetings.
