HDP delegation to meet Deputy Prime Minister

A delegation of the HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) will meet Deputy Prime Minister Yalçın Akdoğan next Monday. The meeting is expected to witness a discussion of the reasons for the current deadlock in the process of talks, and the steps needed to be taken to overcome it.

Giving information about the meeting, HDP Group Deputy Chair Pervin Buldan, a member of the party delegation for İmralı, said that; “As we also stated at the press conference yesterday, a mutual declaration of intention took place in order for the resumption of the dialog process as of Tuesday following talks with authorities from the board of resolution formed by the government. The meeting we had also witnessed a manifestation of intention to keep the ways of dialog open. During Monday's meeting with Yalçın Akdoğan, we will talk about the continuation of the process and the steps to be taken from now on.”

Buldan said the date of the next İmralı meeting with the PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan could also be made clear during the meeting with Akdoğan. “At the moment, we are mainly concentrated on a visit to the Island, which -I think- would be followed by another visit to Kandil", she added.
