Alevi HDP MP Kemal Bülbül has received a death threat via Instagram. As the politician made public on Friday, the message read "Your time is up". Bülbül said he was used to hostility and even death threats but the name of the current sender is more than disturbing: "The Invisibles" - that was also the name of the previously unknown people who were involved in the kidnapping of socialist Gökhan Güneş in Istanbul last week.

"They call themselves invisible, but we know them all too well," Kemal Bülbül commented on the threatening message. They are people of the "deep state", the so-called parallel state. The 56-year-old politician assumes that many of those affected either do not take the threats seriously or find it difficult to go out in public out of fear.

"It would be naive to think that nothing would happen to you. Doing nothing at all out of concern for one's own safety, on the other hand, makes our work, our strength and our struggle more difficult," Bülbül said. He called the continued existence of parastatal and racist structures a "disgrace to the state."

It is regrettable, he said, that Turkey's leadership has so far only appeared with additives such as "deep, parallel or invisible," but not once in the context of democracy. Bülbül calls for a collective engagement of democratic and civil institutions, politics and all other circles that stand up for freedom, equality and justice. Only through "resistance and societal solidarity" is a successful struggle against parastatal structures possible, he added.
