HDP forms a committee to avert provocations

HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) has taken urgent action to eliminate the chaos plan intended to be put into action over Kurds in the main Kurdish city Amed before and after the elections.

HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) has taken urgent action to eliminate the chaos plan intended to be put into action over Kurds in the main Kurdish city Amed before and after the elections.

HDP has formed a committee led by Co-President Selahattin Demirtaş against the provocation attempt in Amed. The committee will prepare a report on the basis of the information it gathers following talks with a number of organizations in the city, including the Hür Dava Party (Hüda-Par).

The committee led by Co-President Selahattin Demirtaş will also comprise DBP (Party of Democratic Regions, formerly BDP) Co-President Kamuran Yüksek, HDP Law Commission member Meral Danış Beştaş, HDP Muş MP Ahmet Yıldırım and HDP Antep MP Mahmut Toğrul. It is reported that co-chairs of the DTK (Democratic Society Congress) and representatives of some NGOs might also be included in the committee.

A part of the committee will have talks with government and NGO officials in the Turkish capital Ankara, while the other part will conduct talks in Amed to manifest the development of the recent happenings and to determine the steps needed to be taken to hinder a conflict.

The HDP committee will draw attention to the conflict intended to be created, and call on all circles to avert provocations.

The committee which will also make attempts in Ankara for the same purpose will prepare a detailed report based on documents and gathered information following these talks.
