HDP members attacked in Ankara and Istanbul

The attacks on members of the HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) engaged in the election campaign, are on the increase as the elections approach.
Attack in Ankara
In Ankara, executives and members of the HDP Kecioren District Organization were attacked by a racist mob while they were campaigning in the neighborhood of Esertepe.
HDP District Organization co-chair, Türkan Konukçu said: “We were campaigning when a racist group started to insult us. We called the police and reported the incident. The police arrested two people”.
On top of that, members of the HDP campaigning on a different street were attacked by a mob of 10 -15 people who broke the glasses of the election car.
In fact the police detained one of the HDP members for taking pictures of the attack.
Attack in Istanbul
In Istanbul, the HDP stand set up in the neighborhood of Site by the HDP Ümraniye District Organization was attacked by a racist mob.
A quarrel erupted between the HDP members and the mob. In the end the HDP members managed to expel the mob from the area.
Nevertheless the racist mob smashed the windows of a vehicle belonging to the party.
