HDP Mersin Provincial Co-chair Selman Günbat said that the President, Prime Minister and other AKP leaders were responsible for the attacks on the party’s offices in Adana and Mersin. He said that the party’s calls for "New life" and "Great humanity" would continue all over Turkey.

The HDP Mersin provincial organisation has held a press conference regarding the recent attacks on the party’s Adana and Mersin offices. The press conference was attended by the HDP’s Mersin candidates, representatives of components of the party and of civil society organisations. HDP Mersin Provincial Co-chair Selman Günbat said there had been over 100 attacks on the party’s offices, vehicles and members.

‘Why is the case file being kept secret?’

Günbat said the attack in Adana that left 6 party workers injured had intended to kill, asking what the purpose of keeping the casefile secret was. “If the identity of the person responsible for these attacks is clear, why the secrecy?”

Günbat emphasised that the President, Prime Minister and other AKP leaders were responsible for the attacks on the party’s offices, citing the statement by one, who said: “It would be super if the HDP fails to exceed the threshold.”

Günbat added that the process of resolution was not dependent on the existence of the AKP and that the HDP would not be prevented from taking its message of ‘New life’ and ‘Great humanity’ to every corner of the country.
