Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Batman MP Ayşe Acar Başaran was taken into custody by police at the guesthouse of the Eğitim-Sen Union in Ankara this morning. Başaran was reportedly detained within the scope of an investigation launched against her by Batman Public Prosecutor.

Police said there was a “forced court appearance” order for Başaran and took her to Ankara police directorate, from which she was referred to Ankara Courthouse to give her statement.

Başaran was released after giving her statement at the court.
