Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Şırnak MP Ferhat Encü has been banned from leaving the country. Police confiscated Encü’s passport as he was in Atatürk Airport to travel abroad.
Encü spoke on the decision issued by the Şırnak Criminal Court and said the verdict showed the level the political coup of the AKP government has reached. Encü said the decision was unlawful and showed that the judiciary acted on instruction as it came at the time he was preparing to travel abroad.
Encü expressed his protest by saying “This is a sign of how the AKP has turned into a gang,” and also stated that they won’t bow down to AKP fascism.
