Önder wished justice be served and this “nonsense reach an end as soon as possible”, not just for Türk but for “everybody, particularly all co-mayors, MPs and co-chairs who believe in democratic politics and have acted accordingly”. Önder continued: “Mr. Türk is a Kurdish wise man who devoted his life to democratic politics and peace. This treatment of him is an insult to a people, an insult to the hope of a people for coexistence and peace.”
Önder spoke of Türk’s health as: “His health, especially his kidneys and his heart, are troubled due to his age. They said the report would come out in 4 or 5 days the latest.”
