Protests continue for the 11th day in Amed, Mardin and Van where the metropolitan municipalities were seized by the AKP regime on August 19 through the removal of elected co-mayors and appointment of trustees in their place.

Protests have continued in Van on the 11th day, as well as obstructions and attacks by the police forces. HDP deputies were attacked by the police while making a press statement following their sit-in.

Police punched Van MP Murat Sarısaç in the face, facing strong opposition and reaction from the people joining the protest.
