HDP MP: Turkey’s problems are related to Öcalan’s isolation
"We must fight together against the AKP-MHP government that jeopardizes our lives, our future and the country," said HDP deputy Muazzez Orhan Işık.
"We must fight together against the AKP-MHP government that jeopardizes our lives, our future and the country," said HDP deputy Muazzez Orhan Işık.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Van Deputy Muazzez Orhan Işık said that Turkey’s problems including the economic shrinkage and human rights violations, are intertwined with the isolation of Kurdish leader Öcalan, saying, "The solution is to end the isolation."
Interviewed by ANF, the female lawmaker stressed that "We must fight together against the AKP-MHP government that jeopardizes our lives, our future and the country."
She said that the isolation imposed on Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan is actually a practice which affects the whole society. “The issue of isolation is related to rights violations in prisons, government interventions in the judiciary, crackdown on the press, lack of freedom of expression, unemployment, deepening economic crisis, suicides and widespread femicides. Recently, the mafia-politics relations have surfaced once again.”
Işık stressed that the government's discourse that promotes racism and nationalism is actually an attempt to hide dirty relations in order to maintain its rule. “Isolation also means not recognizing the law. It is a denial of the legally recognized rights. The judiciary acts by the instructions of the government.”
The HDP MP continued, “The solution is to end the isolation. The government has collapsed. We must fight together against the AKP-MHP government which jeopardizes our lives, our future and the country. We must ensure that the isolation is lifted, and the Kurdish problem is resolved through peaceful democratic means. The interlocutor is Mr. Öcalan and it is not difficult or impossible to resolve the Kurdish issue."
