Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has announced in a press conference its candidates nominated for the coming local elections to take place in Turkey in March 2014.

The party stated that Sırrı Süreyya Önder, former Istanbul deputy of the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party), has been nominated to be a candidate for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

Önder said his nomination for candidateship is his answer to those who demand undercover support from them.

HDP co-chair Ertuğrul Kürkçü stated that the HDP will nominated candidates in the provinces of Malatya, Erzincan and Maraş, and the BDP in Mersin.
