HDP’s ‘Conscience and Justice Vigil’ to start in Istanbul

The second round of the Conscience and Justice Vigil launched by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) in Amed will start today in Istanbul.
The vigil will be held in the Yoğurtçu Park in Istanbul’s Kadıköy district and will continue for a week. Police have surrounded the park beforehand.
HDP Co-chair Serpil Kemalbay and 12 HDP MPs headed for the vigil grounds from the HDP Kadıköy district office.
HDP MPs marched to the park where the Conscience and Justice Vigil will be held accompanied with a large group. The group carried signs that read “Workers’ rights can’t be usurped” and “Women’s gains can’t be usurped” and frequently chanted “Rights - law - justice”.
The march will conclude in the Yoğurtçu Park under police blockade. The police have announced nobody but the 12 MPs and Kemalbay will be allowed into the park.
HDP will launch the vigil with their weekly group meeting in the park, and crowds are gathering outside now.
