HDP's Temelli: The real terrorist is the AKP government

Speaking at the HDP Batman congress, party's co-chair Sezai Temelli drew attention to the crises in Idlib and Libya and said: "The real terrorist is this government. What happened in Idlib is a summary of a ten-year term."

The 3rd Ordinary Congress of HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) Batman Provincial Organization saw the participation of party's co-chair Sezai Temelli, Peace Mothers, Batman municipality co-chairs Korkmaz Songul and Mehmet Demir, Azadi Party representative Ihsan Direk, Turkey Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK-T) deputy chair Ertan Recebanli and representatives of civil society organizations.

Temelli began his speech by paying tribute to the victims of the Roboski Massacre and to Cihan Can, who lost his life after being run over by a police vehicle in Amed earlier this week.

Underlining the destruction of 12,000-year-old historical site of Hasankeyf, Temelli underlined that "this government has a destructive culture. We must take care of Hasankeyf."

Temelli also spoke of another project which will have a huge ecological cost, Canal Istanbul.

'We will continue to claim our will'

Referring to the trustee policy of the government, Temelli said: "The government is continuing with the political coup, ignoring the will of the honorable people. We will continue to defend the right of this people. We will continue to claim our will. They carry out all sorts of attacks. They can't do anything but violence. The Kurdish people have been resisting for decades. Now is the time to come together, to fight together. We call on the people of Turkey. Because the government is taking our right to vote and to be elected from our hands. We will not allow this."

Temelli also reminded of the isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and stressed that they would continue to struggle to end the isolation and the State of Emergency.

The main terrorist is the AKP government

Talking about the Idlib crisis and the Turkish government's concern that "80,000 refugees could come to Turkey", Temelli said: "Who created this situation in Idlib? Who created this situation in Syria?"

Temelli added: "While the Syrian peoples have built their own lives and opened a new solution, Turkey is attacking again with ISIS. Anyone who does not follow them is a terrorist in their eyes. They're out of control. The real terrorist is this government. What happened in Idlib is the summary of a ten-year term."

No to Libya motion

Temelli said that they would say no to the Libyan motion to be brought to Parliament in January: "The war in Syria is not enough and now they want to get to Libya. They want this motion because they want to sell more weapons."
