Intense clashes are taking place in the village of Abbas as the operation by Iraqi army continues with the support of international coalition aircraft.
Two villages were liberated by the Iraqi army as part of the offensive they launched from Geyara area to the southeast of Mosul yesterday.
The offensive in this area is reported to be progressing slowly as ISIS groups are reported to be using civilians as human shields and forming positions in the villages in this region.
ISIS gangs have attacked the Iraqi military forces with a bomb-laden vehicle 30 km west of Maxmur this morning. Clashes that erupted after the attack lasted two hours, after which the wave of ISIS aggression was broken.
