Heyva Sor calls for financial support for victims of the fire in Amed-Mardin

Following the devastating fire between Amed and Mardin, Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê calls for financial aid from the Kurdish people and their friends, especially those living in Europe.

A field fire started last night in a rural area between Amed's (Diyarbakır) Çınar (Xana Axpar) district and Mardin’s Mazıdağı (Şemrex) district, spreading quickly to residential areas. According to latest reports, at least 5 people lost their lives and 44 others were injured, 10 of them seriously.

The fire, which affected an area of tens of kilometres and destroyed agricultural lands, caused heavy material damage as well as loss of life. Countless animals belonging to villagers were also trapped in the flames and died.

Kurdish Red Crescent Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê expressed condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê said it has taken action to heal the wounds of the people as in previous disasters and called for help for the victims of the fire.

The organisation called on the Kurds living in Europe and their friends to extend a helping hand.
