French President Hollande said the murder of Sakine Cansýz, Fidan Doðan and Leyla Söylemez was "terrible" and added that he knew one of the Kurdish women and that she "regularly met us".

The president added that "The investigation into the murders continue. The right thing now is to wait and find out who killed them and why."
