House of Gün TV workers raided in Amed
Special operation teams of police have raided the house of Gün TV workers in the main Kurdish city Amed last midnight.
More than 25 policemen taking part in the operation broke the doors of the building and the house in Mevlana Halit neighborhood in which female workers of the Gün TV are staying. Police forces messed the house up as they searched it in detail for three hours, also holding a gun to the head of the people inside.
A worker of the TV, Kübra Söylemez, was taken into custody in relation with a legal action filed against her earlier.
Söylemez has been taken to police headquarters and is expected to be referred to Diyarbakır public prosecution office.
TV worker Selamet Turan who was also in the house during the raid told that; “They broke the door and got in before I reached it to open. Apart from several, all were wearing a mask. They got us on the ground and put Kübra in handcuffs. They forced all of us into a room and searched all the house in detail. They scattered everything around. They stayed in the house for three hours and didn't allow us to speak at all. They held a gun to our head.”
